Lochlan Shaw On The Radio
Lochlan Shaw has reached the UK Talk radio charts with Hollywood clichés, discover more in this radio interview with the artist.
My name is Lochlan Shaw, and I am a singer-songwriter and composer from North Yorkshire.
I recently graduated from BIMM London’s song writing diploma, and have spent the past few years gigging on open mic scenes and busking across the UK. My song writing style could best be described as acoustic-pop with hints of folk. My influences include John Mayer, Tracy Chapman, and Joni Mitchell. I am also a composer, and I am planning on releasing my debut contemporary piano album on stores soon.
My debut EP was released on the 31st May 2021. I chose the title ‘And So the Light Returned’ as to me the EP represents the end of a period of trying to find my direction, and feeling more hopeful about the future. The EP consists of five songs that fit with this theme. I was invited to record this EP at the Cargo Rooms in London by a promotions company called Hot Vox promotions. I filmed a livestream, and the tracks were then mixed and mastered. I have since had a review in two US magazines: RGM magazine and We Write About Music. I have been playlisted in several Spotify playlists, including: Indie Landfill, New Artist Spotlight and Ditto’s Indie Hitlist alongside artists such as: The Weeknd, Noel Gallagher, Paul Weller and Fleetwood Mac. I have had airplay on Amazing Radio, I have also had a play on BBC Introducing, and I played at BBC Introducing Live late in 2019. I have achieved a few commended entries in The UK Songwriting Contest, and one highly commended entry.
I am planning more releases soon, and am looking forward to continuing to grow as an artist, and seeing what the future holds.
