‘Notes’ Explained to UK Talk Radio;
‘The song was inspired by a BBC article I read about the Human Rights activist Jolovan Wham. I scripted the video to the song to highlight his protest method of holding up a smiley face symbol in silence. The song has some elements steeped in poetry and therefore left for interpretation but on the whole is about the power of silent protest and the importance of free speech. The video and song are really one entity and were developed (on paper) together.’
